Work is under way to make new stock for the first fair
in February, I have been working on having a new section at the fair to show
my more adventurous pieces. The Spinal
Injuries Scotland Awards can still be seen here. (SEE
PICTURES) I intend to try and
coast along for a wee while and try to re-charge my body batteries as well
as my wheelchair ones.

This book is a Guild Of Master
Craftsmen Publication

Written by Mark
Baker and is listed for £16.95 (code 1799) I purchased the book through
Amazon for £10.51 including delivery, checked in Jan 2010 and now for as
little as £6.29 second hand.
It is well laid out with what seems the obligatory section in the front
on Tools, Safety, Finishing and woods, however it is short.
The book then breaks down into Boxes (10), Bowls (10), Platters (10),
Hollow Forms (10), Natural Edge Work (10) and finishes with a couple of
small galleries.
Each item is described and often the techniques used, plus hints and
tips, I am still glancing at this book 2 years on when I am looking for
inspiration for a shape.
I found this an informative book for beginner and intermediate alike,
and the price I purchased it at makes it a good addition to my library,
I shall be lending it out to the guys in the workshop
